Sunny Kaushal & Sara Ali Khan visited Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain, ahead of the release of their upcoming film ‘Zara Hatke, Zara Bachke’. But Sara gets trolled for it!
Sara Ali Khan, along with her co-star Vicky Kaushal, recently visited a Shiva temple in Lucknow as part of the promotion for their upcoming movie.
Sara shared a picture of them praying inside the temple on her Instagram, captioning it with “Jai Bholenath” and folded hands emoticons.
However, this act of visiting a Hindu temple has once again drawn criticism and hate from some conservative and intolerant individuals, particularly targeting Sara for engaging in what they perceive as idolatry.
Several comments from Muslims surfaced, expressing outrage and condemning Sara for her actions. Some users questioned whether Lord Shiva is a true god, while others accused her of engaging in shirk, which refers to the act of idolatry in Islam.
Some even went as far as questioning her faith as a Muslim and making derogatory remarks about her.
It is worth noting that this is not the first time Sara Ali Khan has faced such backlash from conservative trolls for visiting temples and participating in Hindu ceremonies.
She has been targeted in the past, along with other public figures, regardless of their religious background, who have engaged in activities that some Muslims deem incompatible with Islam.
This includes celebrities like Mohammad Kaif, Zaheer Khan, Dipika Kakar Ibrahim, and Neil Nitin Mukesh.
Despite the hateful comments and opposition, Sara has not let it deter her from visiting temples. She was recently spotted praying at the Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, where she participated in the sacred Bhasam Aarti, a ceremony performed with ashes. She adhered to the temple’s dress code and wore a saree, as required by the temple committee.
The attacks on Sara Ali Khan for visiting temples highlight the presence of conservative and intolerant trolls who try to enforce their own beliefs and ideologies on others.
It is unfortunate that individuals are targeted and criticized for expressing their spirituality or engaging in cultural practices different from their own.
