‘Santosh’ Makes Oscar History: Hindi-Language Film Shortlisted for International Feature Category
The Hindi film ‘Santosh’ has made the cut to the final list for Oscar 2025 in the foreign film section as the Indian film industry celebrates this. With cinematography by Sandhya Suri and shortlisted by the United Kingdom, the piece came out of eighty-five submissions from around the world. The movie was also presented at Cannes in May 2024.
‘Santosh’ is a success story of a young lady who after the death of her husband becomes a police constable through a government offer. The plot of the film revolves around her and brings out a story of combating institutional embarking on a murder investigation with a policeman, Inspector Sharma, concerning teenagers from the Dalit caste. Actress Shahana Goswami who is part of the film cast congratulated the team and praised the accomplishment of the film on social media.
