Ronth Movie Review: Release & Cast & Crew info

Capturing the chilling and intense tone of a police investigation, Ronth offers excellent performances along with the film’s very well-told story. Backgrounded by the single case of a mysterious murder, the film tells the story of Dileesh Pothan and Roshan Mathew playing two police officers negotiating the pressures, truth, and prejudices ahead of them. Ronth, directed by Jithin Issac Thomas and written by Shahi Kabir, offers an exciting experience despite mostly familiar structural issues. Before going to the theaters, here they detail the film’s release, cast, and some highlights from the reviews.

Summary of Review:
In Ronth the police procedural and mystery suspense film has made good use of a well-applied mystery. North opened with a horrific charred body discovery to lead off the action and captured reports from the police investigation, allowing significant developments following that to be written through the lens of the police investigation. The realistic police procedural and the chemistry between the main actors were the most compelling aspects of the film. Writer Shahi Kabir’s same issues with stereotyping are again present along with choices that tried to justify police actions. The film also garnered some criticism for how certain characters were treated, including one trans woman who is presented without depth or sensitivity.

Ultimately, with the above issues aside, Ronth is still a feast for fans of Malayalam thrillers who enjoy slow-burn crime-police dramas and committed performances from the cast.
