Rishi Sunak Responds After UK Prime Minister Election Results
The UK PM election has been over. Rishi Sunak received 60,399 votes but Liz Truss polled 81,326 votes. Both of them praised citizens & country leaders.
On Monday, Rishi Sunak urged the members of the Conservative Party to “unite” behind the newly-elected British Prime Minister Liz Truss after losing the race for Boris Johnson’s leadership.
Sunak, who received 60,399 votes to Truss’ 81,326 for party leader, claimed that “the Conservatives are one family.”
The British Indian former Chancellor Rishi Sunak thanked everyone on his official Twitter account who voted for him.
Rishi Sunak made a post on Twitter and wrote,
“Thank you to everyone who voted for me in this campaign. I’ve said throughout that the Conservatives are one family.
It’s right we now unite behind the new PM, Liz Truss, as she steers the country through difficult times.”

After Theresa May and Margaret Thatcher, Lizz Truss is the 3rd female prime minister in British politics. Liz promises to make a big move to help the UK get through these difficult times.
British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss declared that she would take decisive action to help Britain through “these difficult times” after winning the fiercely contested campaign for the leadership of the Conservative Party.
After winning the UK PM election, Lizz Truss also tweeted,
“I am honored to be elected Leader of the Conservative Party. Thank you for putting your trust in me to lead and deliver for our great country.
I will take bold action to get all of us through these tough times, grow our economy, and unleash the United Kingdom’s potential.”

Lizz Truss promised people to solve the energy and power bills crisis. She said that they will deliver the solutions.
Lizz Truss added further,
“I will deliver on the energy crisis, dealing with people’s energy bills but also dealing with the long-term issues we have on energy supply.
With reference to the key issue dominating the leadership campaign which she dubbed “one of the longest job interviews in history.”
Lizz Truss thanked her fellow finalist Rishi Sunak. Then she also paid tribute to outgoing leader Borris Johnson. She said,
“Boris, you got Brexit done, you crushed Jeremy Corbyn (opposition leader), you rolled out the vaccine and you stood up to Vladimir Putin. You are admired from Kyiv to Carlisle.”
