RG KAR Case Update: Court grants bail to Ex- RG Kar Principal Sandip Ghosh
A wave of distress and disappointment hits the family of the victim of RG Kar Medical College and the supporters after the grant of bail by the Sealdah Court Additional Chief Justice to the indicted ex-RG Kar Principal who was accused under various allegations including the rape case of the medical trainee. ACJ granted the bail when the CBI failed to submit the charge sheet within ninety days and stated the accusations over Ghosh & Abhijit Mondal, the officer-in-charge of the Tala Police Station seems to be a cover-up.
“We are very disheartened. This has happened only because the CBI did not file a chargesheet” said the mother of the victim after the announcement. The other doctor named Utpal Bandhopadhay from the group of agitating doctors have also expressed his regret,
“We can imagine what the family is going through now and we are with the family as we are Abhaya’s family.”
The shocking verdict of the Kolkata Court has disappointed many agitating doctors while the court approved that the investigations over the remaining accused will continue to take place in the upcoming hearings. Resistance rising after the tweet of the Chief Minister of WB, Mamata Banerjee who claims that their government and the WB police has secured justice with the capital punishment over the rape-case of a minor in Joynagar and Farakka.
