Rajnikanth’s Jailer To Clash With Gadar 2, Bhola Shankar, OMG 2
Superstar Rajinikanth is making a comeback with his action entertainer “Jailer,” directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, set to release in August 2023.
The movie features a powerful first song called “Kaavaalaa,” which has already become a fan favorite.
Recently, the film received clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), and a grand audio launch event was held in Chennai.
The trailer showcases Rajinikanth as “Tiger” Muthuvel Pandian, who initially presents himself as a mild-mannered individual hiding his true persona from everyone, including his family and friends.
However, his true nature is revealed when he confronts villains and engages in intense action sequences with a menacing smile.
The film boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Rajinikanth, Mohanlal, Jackie Shroff, Tamannaah Bhatia, and others.
However, it was reported that “Jailer” will not have a Hindi version, as Rajinikanth’s recent films have underperformed in the Northern belt.
The actor’s hold over the North has always been limited, and this time, the apathy seems to have extended even further.
As a result, there will be no Hindi dubbed version for “Jailer,” and the movie will focus primarily on its Tamil audience.
Despite this, Rajinikanth’s popularity in Tamil Nadu remains strong, and “Jailer” has received priority in the state. The Tamil Nadu Film Exhibitors’ Association has urged all theaters in the state to release the movie.
Produced by Sun Pictures and distributed by Red Giant, the film is expected to perform well in Tamil Nadu, where both brands have a significant presence.

The movie will face competition during the Independence Day weekend when it clashes with Bollywood biggies like “OMG 2″ starring Akshay Kumar and “Gadar 2” starring Sunny Deol.
Additionally, it will also compete with Chiranjeevi’s “Bhola Shankar” in the Telugu-speaking states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
