Rajasthan Assembly Elections 2023: Political Figures Appeal People To Vote
We’re here to bring you the latest updates on the Rajasthan Assembly Elections 2023. It’s a significant day for Rajasthan as voters across the state make their way to the polls. As of 9:30 AM, Rajasthan has seen a voter turnout of 9.77%, according to the Election Commission. This early stage of voting is crucial as it sets the tone for the rest of the day.
In these elections, many prominent figures are vying for seats. These include Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, and former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot.
Other notable names are Congress spokesperson Gourav Vallabh, Union Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore, and Rajasthan Assembly Speaker CP Joshi.
However, the day was marked by a sad event in Pali district, where a polling agent, Shanti Lal, suffered a suspected cardiac arrest and passed away. He was serving at booth number 47 in the Sumerpur assembly constituency. This incident has cast a somber mood over the election proceedings in that area.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, recognizing the importance of these elections, extended his best wishes to first-time voters in Rajasthan. He urged every citizen of the state to participate in this democratic process and hoped for a record turnout.
The Congress party, currently in power in Rajasthan, also made an appeal to voters. Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge urged people to choose their “government of guarantees,” focusing on the welfare schemes and development they’ve promised.
BJP MP Kirodi Lal Meena raised concerns about the voting process, noting that voting was slow in some areas and that there were issues with electricity arrangements at some polling stations. He has requested the District Election Officer to address these issues promptly.
In Jhalawar, former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje cast her vote and expressed confidence in the BJP’s victory. She encouraged voters to make the lotus, the symbol of the BJP, bloom in the state.
The former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje also shared her thoughts on the elections. She confidently stated that the BJP will win, and the lotus will bloom when votes will be counted on December 3. Her call to the public was to participate actively in this democratic process.
