Jhanvi Kapoor film’s shooting: Last year people saw one of the worst years for the film stars with various scandals shaping their schedules in addition to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Since the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, people started targeting Bollywood for nepotism, favoritism and also for not being vocal about a lot of subjects.
The current issue which has been raised against Hindi film Industry is for not speaking on farmers’ protest. Jhanvi Kapoor was the target as the actor was shooting in Punjab and farmers gathered outside the premises of the venue where her shooting was going on.
They asked her opinion on the agricultural bill and pressured her to say something about the ongoing farmers protest in Delhi. Kapoor was shooting for Anand L Rai’s upcoming movie ‘Good Luck Jerry’ in Bassi, Fatehpur Sikri. She along with her crew were shooting a scene, which was disrupted by a group of farmers.
The farmers went on to shout slogans against the team. As per a report by the Republic TV, the farmers said that they will only let the shooting continue if the crew publishes articles in favour of them.
ANI in its report claimed, “Farmer groups gathered outside the venue in Bassi Pathana city of Fatehgarh Sahib, where shooting for a film, starring Janhvi Kapoor was going on Jan 11. They demanded her opinion on farmers’ protest against farm laws. They later went back upon being assured by the crew.”
The whole incident supposedly took place in front of the police and on everyone’s push, the crew obliged to the demands of the farmers. Soon after this, farmers left the scene and let the shooting continue.
Kapoor later took to social media platform Instagram to say that farmers are indeed at the heart of our nation and I recognise the role they play in feeding the entire nation.
Following this, a lot of trolls attacked the actor saying that she doesn’t know what she is talking about. Some even said that she is not an expert to be questioned about farm laws.
Meanwhile, the actor shared the first look of the film through her personal handle where she earned a lot of praise.
