Uttar Pradesh – The Opposition Party’s strong voice and proponent of the farmers, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has been under detention in a private guesthouse in Uttar Pradesh since early Monday morning.
She was arrested at 4.50 am in the morning and told this was being done under Section 151. No written FIR has been filed and this is being termed as an ‘illegal detention’. After a video leaked from the Sitapur guesthouse, police even tried to confiscate her phone and her colleagues too.
As 24 hours have passed, it is imperative that she should have been brought before a Magistrate. This has also not been done. While speaking to a prominent Indian media house, she said that the party is looking at its legal options to challenge these illegal moves.
