Prime Minister Modi inaugurates the new Kashi corridor in Varanasi
Varanasi -The Prime Minister inaugurated the first phase of the Kashi Vishwanath Dham Corridor in Varanasi on Monday. Varanasi is an ancient holy city of Uttar Pradesh. The Kashi corridor project cost Rupees 339 crore. The Minister is on a two-day visit to his Lok Sabha constituency in Varanasi. He received a warm welcome from the people of Varanasi. The foundation of the project was laid by PM Modi in 2019. It took around two years to complete the first phase of the project.
Inauguration of the Kashi corridor
After inaugurating the new Kashi corridor, PM Modi said that it is a testament to a new beginning of a nation bridging its ancient civilization and modernity. He further said the development of infrastructure and religious places is important for the “new India”. The PM further urged the people to take three resolutions for the beauty of the Kashi Corridor. The three resolutions include cleanliness, creation, and continuous efforts towards Atmanirbhar Bharat.
According to a report by Hindustan Times, the Kashi Vishwanath temple premises, which were only around 3000 square feet, have now become about 5 lakh square feet.
PM Modi also praised the workers as they never stopped working for the temple amid the Covid-19 pandemic. Before the inauguration, the Prime Minister interacted with the workers and showered flower petals on them. Reportedly, PM Modi will attend the 98th-anniversary celebrations of Sadguru Sadafaldeo Vihangam Yog Sansthan in Varanasi around 3 pm today.
Inauguration ahead of the election
Uttar Pradesh election is barely weeks ahead and the fight for UP is heating up. The BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) government is trying to develop the infrastructure of the state. The election will be reportedly held in UP between February to March 2022. All the political parties have stepped up their game ahead of the election. The BJP government led by chief minister Yogi Adityanath is aiming to win the election for a second consecutive time. Keywords
