This will be PMIS Round 2, again a pilot project that will offer 1,00,000 paid internships in leading companies across 730+ districts of India. The idea behind the initiative is to allow young job seekers to gain work experience with their first practical exposure to real work environments, training them for future career possibilities.

To ensure wide participation, the government is undertaking a massive digital campaign across various platforms, including social media influencers. This time, however, every applicant can apply to a maximum of three internships of their choice.
What is the PM Internship Scheme?
The scheme was announced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the 2024 Budget and launched officially on 3rd October 2024. So far, as per Minister of State for Corporate Affairs Harsh Malhotra, 28,141 candidates have already secured internships under the program.
The duration of the internships would be 12 months; during this period, at least 50% of it would consist of hands-on training in real working environments.
Who Can Apply?
Eligibility and suitability criteria for PM Internship Scheme include:
- Minimum Age: 21 years; maximum 24 years
- Employment Status: Not in full-time employment
- Education: Minimum Class 10, IIT/IIM graduates, members of CAs and CMAs are not eligible
- Skill-based: Trained at ITIs and Kaushal Kendras
- Income Limit: Family income from all sources must be less than ₹8 lakh per annum
- Exclusions: Candidates in families of government employees are not eligible
The Benefit of this Internship
- Practical work experience: Working in actual business environments
- Monetary Support: Each intern will get a stipend of ₹5,000 per month in addition to a one-time grant of ₹6,000.
- Higher employability: Practical experience ensures employability.
- Internship Certificate: A certificate of completion is awarded after 12 months.

- Submit Documents: Upload required documents and apply.
- No fees: No application fees or registration charges.
- Resume Auto-Generation: The system will generate resumes on its own by using the information provided.
- Internship Applications: Candidates can apply to up to five internship openings to correspond to their skills and preferences on place of work.
- New Internships: Information Technology and Tech Interns.
The Ministry of Corporate Affairs of India has introduced 3,100 paid internship mandates in IT, software development, cybersecurity, sales and marketing, and finance in partnership with India’s leading tech companies, which provide opportunities for networking and exposure in actual business.
