Prime Minister, Narendra Modi during his Independence Day address from the Red Fort stated that three coronavirus vaccines are under trial. As soon as the researchers give a green signal, the nation will start its large scale manufacturing. When all tests are completed, the roadmap of production and delivery to the general public will soon be ready, he added.
PM Modi stated that India just had one lab for testing when the pandemic struck and presently the nation has more than 1,400 labs, and 130 Indians vowed to make India ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ (self-reliant India) in the midst of coronavirus crisis. A couple of months back India used to import PPE kits, N-95 Masks, and ventilators and now we are reaching out and helping other countries, PM Modi included.
Prior this month, India’s medication controller approved the use of the Serum Institute of India (SII) to conduct final state human trials in the nation for the Oxford-AstraZeneca Covid-19 immunization candidate. Zydus Cadila’s ZyCov-D and Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin are on I/II trial stage.
PM Modi also announced the launch of the National Digital Health Mission, in which each citizen would receive a health ID card. Each time you will visit a doctor or a drug store, everything will be added to your health card on a national scale. From the physician’s appointment to the prescribed medicine, everything will be added to your health ID,” PM Modi added.
