Paytm founder wants to buy Tesla but on one condition
Vijay Shekhar Sharma, who is the founder and CEO of Paytm joined the league of Tesla fans who want to own the electric vehicle.
Sharma is one of India’s youngest billionaires who has disrupted the finance and entrepreneur industry of the country. Within just a few years of its inception, he has climbed his way to create a net worth of $2.3 billion.
Stepping ahead, he makes a condition that he wants Tesla CEO Elon Musk to set up a factory in India. He says that even though, he is waiting for a Tesla, he will love that they have factories in India. Similar to the thoughts of Bhavish Aggarwal, who is a co-founder and CEO of Ola Cabs, even Sharma voiced his disagreements on Tesla’s demand for a reduction in import duties.
Bhavish Aggarwal tweeted that they should have confidence in our ability to build indigenously and also attract global OEMs to build in India, not just import.

These tech entrepreneurs are secretly the grouping against Musk’s recent demand for special treatment for his cars.
This is because Musk has great solid plans to launch cars in India. Although, the import duties for electric vehicles in the country are now the highest in the world by far.
Musk replied on Twitter that clean energy vehicles are treated the same as diesel or petrol, which does not seem entirely consistent with the climate goals of India. Thus, building a Tesla factory in India will be challenging.
