Pakistan Legends Rally Against India’s Refusal for Champions Trophy 2025
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has a huge diplomatic problem after India turned down the opportunity to come to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy 2025. PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi has engaged in top-level negotiations with the government since the PCB received a formal message from the ICC about India’s stand. The development has elicited many reactions from the Pakistan cricket community, with many legends demanding stern action.
Strategic Response of PCB and Its Financial Effect
PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi, also the federal interior minister, is in touch with the government, and waiting for further instructions from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The board has reiterated its pledge to secure all the teams, including India, and has insisted that the preparations for the event are up to par.
The PCB also admits that there may be financial repercussions if Pakistan decides to go all out by boycotting the series against India. It is also being said that Pakistan may take the matter to the International Olympic Committee (IOC), as they feel that India’s move is political interference in sports.
Legendary Cricketers Express a Lot of Opposition
The Indian decision has drawn sharp responses from former Pakistan cricket captains. The same was the opinion of Javed Miandad who did not only call for an outright series abandonment with India but was confident that Pakistan cricket would benefit from it. Rashid Latif for instance said that India’s decision seems politically influenced especially when other teams are quite ok to play in Pakistan.
Inzamam ul Haq and Mohsin Khan said the same thing but Inzamam has been quoted on Pakistan’s proud history of inviting Cricketers. It exposed the fact that even now there is controversy concerning the Indo-Pak cricket tie up as India has not toured Pakistan for a series since the Asia Cup that was held in 2008 while Pakistan has toured India for other series.
