NIA Raids At 25 Locations In Connection With PFI Leaders’ Plan To Kill PM Modi
The NIA is conducting raids at 25 different locations in Bihar, Kerala & Karnataka in connection with PFI, which is accused of multiple terror activities in India.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is conducting raids at around 25 locations in Karnataka, Kerala, and Bihar in connection with the Phulwari Sharif case, which is linked to the Popular Front of India (PFI).
The raids are part of an investigation into an alleged plot by the banned organization to attack Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a rally in Bihar on July 12, 2022.
In Karnataka, the NIA is conducting search operations in 16 places in the Dakshina Kannada district, including Puttur, Bantwal, and other areas.
The raids are being carried out at houses, offices, and hospitals associated with PFI activists.
The NIA suspects that the PFI had conspired to target PM Modi during his visit to Patna in 2022 and claims that the organization was preparing terror modules and planning other attacks.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had previously stated in its remand note against PFI member Shafeeque Payeth that the organization had conspired to target PM Modi during his visit to Patna on July 12, 2022.
The ED also alleged that the PFI was involved in preparing terror modules and engaging in other anti-national activities.
The PFI is accused of receiving funds from Gulf countries to plot terror activities in India. The raids by the NIA are part of a crackdown on the PFI’s hawala money network in South India.
Last year, several arrests were made in Patna in connection with the Phulwari Sharif case, and incriminating documents, including PFI’s ‘Mission 2047,’ which allegedly mentioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a target, were recovered.
The NIA suspects the existence of a PFI network in Dakshina Kannada, which is why a team of officials has been sent to the district to investigate further. The raids are aimed at gathering evidence and conducting document verification with the assistance of local police.
The NIA’s raids and investigation are over the allegations against the PFI regarding its alleged involvement in planning attacks and engaging in anti-national activities.
