Nine locations were raided by the NIA on Thursday in Valley and one in Delhi. The raids were carried out in relation to a case which was related to NGOs and certain trusts that were allegedly diverting funds, originally meant for charitable activities, to “secessionist and separatist activities” in Jammu and Kashmir.
Under multiple sections of IPC and UAPA, the case was registered on October 8. NIA said in a statement that the case was registered when it received “credible information that certain NGOs and Trusts are collecting funds domestically and abroad through so-called donations and business contributions”. It also said that these funds were then used to fund terror activities in Jammu and Kashmir.
