Netflix is launching a new feature for its Android users that will enable them to partially download content. Previously users were not able to view the partially downloaded content until the download was fully complete. However, the new Netflix feature will enable the users to watch partially downloaded films or series.
The new partial download feature takes Netflix to another level by permitting users to watch the half downloaded content as well. Users can later complete downloading the entire episode or film when they get better access to the Internet.
“We’ve further developed the Netflix download experience so that users are able to start watching The Mitchells versus The Machines or the following episode of Luis Miguel even though it hasn’t finished downloading”.
Whenever you are able to recieve a good internet connection, you can complete the download and continue watching, Netflix says in a blog entry.
This new feature is accessible for Android users at present. The company will start testing the iOS devices for the same in the coming months.
The Netflix’s algorithm understands that users films and series preferences. It will help you automatically download films and TV shows that you may like, to help you in situations where you have no Internet access or in a long line of evening traffic.
Previously, the Netflix Smart Downloads automatically deleted the episodes you’ve completed watching and downloaded the next episode for you.
