Northern Coalfields Limited, an associate company of Coal India Limited under the Ministry of Coal, has launched the application procedure for the Apprentice Trainee Recruitment 2026-27. The recruitment drive comprises 1,607 vacancies across the categories of Graduate, Diploma, Trade (ITI), and Paramedical. This is one of the biggest apprenticeships announced for the current year.
Apprentice training will be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Apprentices Act 1961, and selected trainees will receive practical training in industries, as well as a monthly stipend.
Total Vacancies Under NCL Apprentice Recruitment 2026
As per the notice provided, NCL has released 1,607 opportunities for apprentices in different categories such as graduate apprentices, diploma apprentices, trade apprentices (ITI), and paramedical apprentices.
These apprenticeship programs will ensure the provision of a one-year apprenticeship at NCL plants situated in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh states.
Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility criteria for applicants seeking employment through NCL Apprentice Recruitment 2026 includes fulfillment of educational qualifications as per their particular category.
Graduation level apprenticeship requires a graduate qualification in their respective discipline, whereas for diploma level apprenticeship, a diploma qualification is required. ITI level apprenticeship can be applied for by those who hold ITI qualification in their respective trades, and similarly for paramedical jobs as well.
Age criteria would normally range from 18 to 26 years by June 1, 2026, though some relaxation in age criteria is allowed for certain categories based on government regulations.
Important Dates
Online registration was initiated on June 1, 2026. The deadline for submitting applications is set for June 15, 2026, and late applications will not be entertained.
As the duration given for submitting applications is quite short, therefore, eligible candidates are encouraged to register well ahead of the deadline date.
Stipend Offered to Apprentices
Chosen applicants will receive a monthly allowance while undergoing training. The allowance will differ based on the level of apprenticeship. It is expected that Graduate Apprentices could receive an allowance of around ₹12,300, Diploma Apprentices an allowance of about ₹10,900, whereas allowances for Trade & Paramedical Apprentices range between ₹9,600 and ₹13,700.
The duration of the apprenticeship program will be for one year as per the Apprentices Act.
Selection Process

The selection process is supposed to be made on merit based on their marks obtained in the qualifying exams. Then the candidates would be subjected to document verification and a medical test.

However, the process of applying varies based on the specific category of the applicants. Candidates applying under the graduate and diploma category should register themselves via the portal NATS whereas for Trade Apprentices, they have to register themselves using the portal NAPS.
Once registered, candidates are required to complete the application form, attach the necessary documents, choose Northern Coalfields Limited as the organization where they want to be apprenticed and then submit their application.
