Microsoft Internet Explorer Retired After 27-Years Service
Microsoft decided to shut IE down after its 27-years service as it couldn’t compete with other browsers. But Microsoft Edge has emerged as a leading browser.
Eventually Microsoft retired all versions of Internet Explorer (IE) from its Windows. It is known that Internet Explorer had given a big definition of Internet surfing, due to which the world of the Internet continued to appear in front of the people in a graphical user interface.
But now times have changed and in the changing times, Microsoft has brought Microsoft Edge to the users as an alternative, as a result, Internet Explorer has now ended its journey after 27 years.
Historical Rise of Internet Explorer
If we talk about the Windows operating system and the Internet is connected to it, then the matter of Internet Explorer is not untouched.
Initially when Internet surfing started in Windows, Internet Explorer arrived on 16 August 1995 and this journey continued.
And this journey continued till June 15, 2022, during which Internet Explorer has seen many ups and downs, although now Microsoft has announced its termination due to time and consumer demand.
Lagging of Internet Explorer
If we talk about the user base, then in the year 2003, the user base of Internet Explorer was about 94 percent. But after that Internet Explorer started falling rapidly and the situation was such that later it reached 2 percent and this condition became the condition of the Internet.
Things went from bad to worse with the addition of players in the market like Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox etc.
These other web browsers became famous simply because they were very compact in size, took very less time to download any web page
The most important thing was that these browsers were built on Chromium, in fact this was a time when the Internet world was constantly experimenting with new ones.
While Microsoft worked to bring only new versions of Internet Explorer, the technical Upgraded but browser got heavy and slow.
There came a time that people started using Internet Explorer just because they could install Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox or Opera browser.
Microsoft Alternative of Internet Explorer
It is not that Microsoft has left the field for the browser, Microsoft has changed itself with the changing times, and around January 2015, Microsoft created a new web browser, which used the same technology to create a browser like Chrome.
Later it was known as Microphone Edge (EDGE) and currently comes inbuilt with the operating system in Windows 10 or 11.
According to cyber security experts, Microsoft’s Edge browser is not only extremely lightweight but also in many ways safer than other third party browsers competing in the Internet market.
Microsoft Windows releases upgrades and security patches from time to time.
