Mahindra gets the contract for the helicopter fuselage for Airbus

Mahindra Aerostructures (MASPL), part of the Mahindra Group, has bagged a mammoth contract from Airbus Helicopters. Mahindra will manufacture and assemble the main fuselage of the very light single-engine helicopter, the H130. These assemblies shall be flown to the Airbus Helicopters facility in Europe starting March 2027.
This partnership gives a big boost to India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative and demonstrates the increasing prowess of the country’s aerospace manufacturing capabilities.
The signing of the memorandum is attended by many eminent personalities, including Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, Minister of Civil Aviation; Vumlunmang Vualnam, Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation; and Remi Maillard,
ident and MD of Airbus India & South Asia; and Dr. Anish Shah, Group CEO & MD of Mahindra Group.
As per the agreement, Mahindra will start working on the industrialization process right away so that the first fuselage assembly can be delivered by March 2027.
