Sharad Pawar has hit out hard on the Maharashtra governor saying that it is strange how the politician prioritized meeting the actor Kangana Ranaut over the protesting peasants.
The Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari is said to have headed to Goa at a time when peasants from the state were to submit a memorandum to the latter against the farm laws. He instead went and met the actor, as she compliant about how the Bombay Municipal Corporation (BMC) in 2020 demolished parts of her office.
Koshyari holds the additional charge of Goa and went especially to meet the actor, stepping aside the pressing matter of the farmer’s protest and their grievances over the altered farmer laws.
The former Union agriculture minister also accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of not enquiring about the condition of farmers agitating near Delhi borders against the Centre’s farm laws for two months now in cold weather.
Ranaut’s office had been demolished by BMC possibly over the comments she had made about the government and Shiv Sena, with respect to deceased actor Sushant Singh Rajput. According to her statement, Mr. Koshyari gave her a patient hearing like a concerned father. His patience has costed him bad blood and criticism of not having prioritized the farmers’ protests and grievances over the actor’s.
The NCP leader made these comments on an ongoing rally held at Azad Maidan in south Mumbai. Present on the occasion were also Maharashtra Revenue Minister and state Congress chief Balasaheb Thorat and All India Kisan Sabha general secretary Hannan Mollah. The NCP patriarch alleged that the farm laws were passed without detailed discussion in Parliament despite opposition parties demanding deliberations on the bills concerned.
PM Narendra Modi seems to have been getting huge flakes from the opposition for his decision to centralized the grain sale mechanism, having removed the middle man.
