Here are the top 8 Civilian Awards and Awardees of India in 2024.
1.Param Vir Chakra
The Highest Military Honorary which is also called as “Wheel of the Ultimate Brave” has been presented since 1950 during the Republic Day Parade, January 26. The Awardees will receive from the President of India. In 2024, this supreme honour was presented for Subedar Major Sanjay Kumar who has contributed to the valiant victory of India in Kargil War.
2.Padma Vibhushan
The second highest Civilian Award which honours the individuals and it is open to all the sectors. This award is also presented on the occasion of Republic Day to the awardees along with a certificate signed by the President of India.
There are five Awardees in 2024 Ms.Vyjayantimala Bali (Art), Shri Konidela Chiranjeevi (Art), Shri M.Venkaiah Naidu (Public Affairs), Shri Bindeshwar Pathak (Social Work) (Posthumous) and Ms. Padma Subrahmanyam (Art).
3.Padma Bhushan
Padma Bhushan the third highest civilian award presented by the President of India at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi around March/April.
2024 Padma Bhushan Awardees: In total 17 different personalities have received the honour. Shri V.Vijayakant (Art), S.S Rajamouli (Art), Ms.M.Fatima Beevi (Public Affairs), Shri K.Sivan (Science and Engineering), Shri V.Ananda Bose (Civil Service).
4.Padma Shri
In 2024, the government of India presented the fourth highest civilian award “Padma Shri” to a total 110 individuals from the various disciplines.
5.Bharat Ratna
Bharat Ratna is considered as an unique and supreme recognition of the achievers. This year five distinguished individuals have been given the prestigious award on Republic Day. Four Posthumous Awardees – Karpoori Thakuri, M.S.Swaminathan, P.V.Narasimha Rao, and Chaudhary Charan Singh. And the fifth person is the former PM L.K.Advani.
6.Ashoka Chakra
Ashoka Chakra is the highest gallantry award presented for the Armed Forces, Police forces, nursing services, and civilians who express their bravery and who sacrificed their lives during such a valorous incident. In 2024, the six different gallantry awards was received by 103 brave hearts.

7.Jnanpith Award
The highest achievers in the literature are awarded with the esteemed Jnanpith award annually. Sampooran Singh Kalra who is also known as ‘Gulzar’ is a famous Urdu poet and the renowned Hindu spiritual leader, writer & educator Rambhadracharya were honoured with the Jnanpith Award in 2024.
8.Dadasaheb Phalke Award
It is the highest award presented for the greatest achievers in the field of Indian Cinema which is organised annually by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. On the 70th National National Film Awards grand event the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award was presented to the veteran actor of Bollywood Mithun Chakraborty who dedicated his forty eight years of life for the cinema industry with his tireless contributions.
