Religious significance of Maha Shivratri in Kumbh Mela
Maha Shivratri holds lots of significance in Hinduism because it means the divine merger of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Contextually, it becomes further important since here Lord Shiva had his role in Samudra Manthan leading to the emergence of Amrit Kumbh – the very crux of the festival.
Mahashivratri: the last day of Amrit Snan is on February 26. The night of Mahashivratri is considered to be the most auspicious for worship. It is blessed with an abundance of energies of Lord Shiva and his vibrations. Bathing on this day is said to remove all forms of ignorance and bring a person closer to Lord Shiva
