Kannappa OTT Release Date & Platform Announced
Vishnu Manchu‘s mythological Movie, Kannappa, which hit theaters on June 27, is now all set to release online. The film received favorable reviews from critics and fans alike, but sadly it wasn’t able to crank out a respectable amount of box office revenue. Fans who were initially unable to catch it in theatres will now be able to stream the film and watch it from the comfort of their own favorite chair.
When and where will Kannappa be available for viewing online?
Kannappa will debut on Amazon Prime Video on July 25. If so, this would mean the film will be available on OTT less than a month after entering the theaters. Even so, we have yet to hear any confirmation from the makers of the film.Vishnu Manchu previously stated that he had delayed selling the digital rights because he wanted to see how the film did in theatres. But since it was a flop in terms of box office revenue, it is possible that the makers of the film had realized they should strike an OTT deal.

What is Kannappa?
Kannappa is a mythological film inspired by the story of a devotee of Lord Shiva. The film is directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and features Vishnu Manchu in the leading role. The film also features cameo appearances from great stars such as Prabhas, Mohanlal, Akshay Kumar, and Kajal Aggarwal. Mohan Babu, R. Sarathkumar and Arpit Ranka play supporting characters. Ultimately, despite opening with ₹9.35 crore on its first day, it was unable to take off at the box office. Currently, its total box gross is around ₹46 crore worldwide.
Kannappa Faces Piracy Issues
After the release of the film, Vishnu Manchu warned fans about the issue of online piracy. He also stated that over 30,000 illegal links and downloads of the film have been taken off the internet. He used social media to ask fans to not support piracy, and help support cinema.
