It’s AAP vs BJP: Video of AAP’s Satyendar Jain getting massage in Tihar Jail goes viral
The BJP today has launched attacks on Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) over a video of Delhi minister Satyendar Jain, who is currently serving his time in Tihar Jail. Jain, who was arrested in May in a money laundering case, is seen getting a massage in Delhi’s Tihar Jail in the video. This reiterates an earlier charge made by BJP that Jain is enjoying special treatment in jail.
AAP has hit back on BJP and called the party and its leaders as “shameless” for making a spectacle of sick Jain who is receiving the massage as part of his treatment. Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said that Satyendar Jain has been advised physiotherapy after he underwent two spinal surgeries due to an injury in jail.
“Where is Arvind Kejriwal hiding now. Satyendar Jain can be seen enjoying massage and meeting visitors in his cell in total violation of rules and prison laws. This VVIP culture in jail is dangerous for democracy,” BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia said in a press conference.
The video comes just days after the Superintendent of Tihar Jail, Ajit Kumar was suspended for providing alleged VIP treatment to the jailed minister. BJP’s Shehzad Poonawalla said, “VVIP treatment in jail! Can Kejriwal defend such a mantri? Should he not be sacked ? This shows true face of AAP!”

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia responded to BJP’s comments as he said, “I cannot even imagine that the BJP has stooped so low that it is making fun of someone’s illness. Firstly, they put a man in jail who is innocent; now they are making fun of his illness.” Sisodia did not even refrain from taking a jibe at the Prime Minister as he said, “Desh ke pradhan mantri bhi beemaar ho sakte hain, unhe bhi ilaaj ki zaroorat padh sakti hai.” (“The Prime Minister of a country may also fall sick. Even they may require treatment.”)
