ISKCON Leader and Bangladesh Hindu Chinmoy Krishna Das arrested in Dhaka
Tensions arises in India and its neighbouring country Bangladesh after the arrest of the Hindu monk and ISKCON Pundrik Dham Leader, Chinmoy Krishna Das by group of detective branch of police at Dhaka. It is reported that he has been arrested at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. The reason behind his arrest haven’t been revealed or explained properly till now.
The ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness) expressed their objections on their X after the Chinmoy Krishna Das being nicked,
“We have come across disturbing reports that Sri Chinmoy Krishna Das, one of the prominent leaders of ISKCON Bangladesh, has been detained by the Dhaka police. It is outrageous to make baseless allegations that ISKCON has anything to do with terrorism anywhere in the world”.
Following many unrest situations in Bangladesh, India’s Ministry of Extrenal Affairs has released the statement of condemn,
“We have noted with deep concern the arrest and denial of bail to Shri Chinmoy Krishna Das, who is also the spokesperson of the Bangladesh Sammilit Sanatan Jagran Jote. This incident follows the multiple attacks on Hindus and other minorities by extremist elements in Bangladesh.
We also note with concern the attacks on minorities protesting peacefully against the arrest of Shri Das.
We urge Bangladesh authorities to ensure the safety and security of Hindus and all minorities”
On Tuesday, the court of Chattogram has denied the bail appeal of Hindu Monk Chinmoy Krishna Das and ordered to prison him.
