The Wankhede stadium in Mumbai may soon host a well-known boxing match between Conor McGregor and Logan Paul. After suffering a serious leg injury during a UFC fight against Dustin Poirier in July 2021, McGregor would be making his first appearance in the ring in three years. As a former two division UFC champion McGregor has long hinted at a potential return.
McGregor will square off against YouTuber turned boxer Logan Paul as part of the ‘Visit India’ campaign which aims to increase travel to the nation. Mukesh Ambani, the richest man in India and one of the top billionaires in the world with a net worth of over $95 billion supports the campaign.
Both McGregor and Logan Paul are predicted to take home an astounding $250 million from the proposing making it one of the biggest payouts in boxing history.
Although there has been no formal announcement, the idea of a fight of this nature taking place in Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium has fans and sports analysts alike in a frenzy.
The most recent of these mega fights which pitted Mike Tyson against Logan Paul’s brother Jake Paul in Texas took place in Las Vegas or London among other international locations. However, for similar events in the future such an event in Mumbai might not only bring the city but also India to a worldwide level.
