IPL 2025 streaming is likely to remain free. Here is the reason

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has confirmed the schedule for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) tournament. Matches are going to kick off on March 22. Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bengaluru are up for the first clash.
The iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata is going to host Qualifier 2 on May 23 and the finals on May 25, in addition to the first match of the tournament. The stadium had hosted the IPL final for the first time back in 2013.
Hyderabad, the home ground of 2024 runners-up Sunrisers Hyderabad, is going to host the other couple of playoffs – Qualifier 1 on May 20 and the Eliminator on May 21. 74 matches shall be played across 65 days in 13 different venues.
The Nielsen-JioHotstar collaboration for third-party ad measurement during the upcoming IPL 2025 suggests that the streaming platform is likely to continue offering free cricket content, despite recent subscription model changes.
This collaboration centres on establishing a dedicated data pipeline to enable real-time ad measurement during IPL 2025 broadcasts. Through the Nielsen ONE dashboard, companies can get detailed metrics such as impression counts and click-through rates.
