In the 56th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Rajasthan Royals (RR) beat Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 9 wickets.
For the Royals, and particularly Yashasvi Jaiswal, who scored the IPL’s quickest fifty, it was a day of records. Jos Buttler, his opening partner, had a forgettable workday, though.
After getting mixed up with Jaiswal and scoring a three-ball duck, Buttler was penalized 10% of his match earnings for violating the IPL code of conduct.
After being run out, Buttler banged his bat against the boundary ropes as he made his way back to the pavilion. He was angry. His acts go under Level 1 of the IPL code of conduct, and the cricketer also acknowledged making the error.
Jos Buttler of the Rajasthan Royals was penalized 10% of his match money for violating the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023’s code of conduct during the match between the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Rajasthan Royals on May 11 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
In accordance with Article 2.2 of the IPL Code of Conduct, Mr. Buttler acknowledged to the Level 1 Offense. The Match Referee’s judgment is decisive and binding for Level 1 Code of Conduct violations, according to an IPL statement.
It was a straightforward victory for the Royals over KKR in the game. Yuzvendra Chahal’s magnificent four-wicket haul and Trent Boult’s two wickets of the KKR openers helped RR, which had chosen to bowl first, limit the opposition to 149 runs.
In order to have any chance of winning the match after scoring only 149 runs, KKR needed early wickets. However, Yashasvi Jaiswal had other ideas as he crushed Nitish Rana for 26 runs in the very first over of the innings.
The Royals scored 78 runs overall, while Jaiswal scored as much as 62 runs alone on the powerplay, meaning that KKR was never able to recover from this attack.
