Instagram Now Lets You Download Reels Without Third-Party Apps
Instagram, one of the most popular social media platforms, has introduced a new feature that’s gaining attention worldwide, including here in Bharat.
Do you know how people used to download Instagram Reels before this feature? Earlier, if someone wanted to download a Reel, they often had to rely on third-party apps.
These third-party apps were not officially associated with Instagram. While they did the job, there were questions about their legality and ethical use. Many of these apps could potentially violate privacy or intellectual property rights. So, it wasn’t the best or the safest method.
Download Reels Posted By Public Accounts
Can you download Reels posted by public accounts on Instagram? Absolutely, yes! Instagram has officially rolled out this feature globally. This means that if you see a Reel you like on a public account, you can now download it directly to your device. How convenient, right?
So, how do you save these Reels to your camera roll? It’s quite straightforward. When you find a Reel you want to save, just tap the Share button (it looks like a paper airplane) and then select the Download option. This will save the Reel directly to your camera roll. Remember, this only works for Reels from public accounts that have allowed downloading.
Stop Others From Downloading Your Reels
Now, if you have a public account yourself and are concerned about your Reels being downloaded, don’t worry. You can control this. You can turn off the ability for others to download your Reels. Just go to your Instagram Profile, then to Settings and Privacy, and under Sharing and Remixes, you’ll find the option to toggle off the downloading of your Reels.
Download Reels Without A Watermark
What about downloading your own Reels without a watermark? Instagram has thought about this too. You can download your own Reels from saved drafts without any watermark. This means you can share your original content freely.

Share Reels On Other Social Platforms
Lastly, can you share these downloaded Reels on other social media apps without copying the URL? Yes, indeed! With this new update, once you’ve saved a Reel to your camera roll, you can share it directly as a video file on other social media platforms like WhatsApp, Telegram, and more. No more hassle of copying and pasting URLs!
