PM Modi is all set to inaugurate India’s first rapid rail line, called RapidX, in Ghaziabad. This isn’t your regular train; it’s a part of the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) designed to make travel faster and smoother in the National Capital Region (NCR).
RapidX is more than just a fast train; it’s a move toward better, eco-friendly transport. Plus, India is pulling out all stops to meet its big, green goals.
It’s going to have stations that are more than just platforms. Take Sahibabad Station, for example. It’s got three levels: ground, concourse, and platform. Plus, there are safety screen doors and multiple entry-exit points. Ghaziabad Station is the highest one in the track and has four levels.
Special care has been taken for elders, women, and children. There are lifts and escalators for easy movement. Elderly passengers will have free restrooms and drinking water. And moms? They get special areas for changing diapers. Isn’t that thoughtful?
RapidX revolution is linked with India’s green goals. With all the talk about climate change, India is ramping up its eco-friendly game. We’re looking at a bigger share of clean energy like solar and wind power. We’re also investing in biofuels and other technologies to turn waste into energy.

Electric vehicles (EVs) are also on the rise. Already, over 750,000 EVs were sold from April to September this year. And it’s not just about selling EV cars and scooters; there are bigger plans for fast charging stations and even battery-swapping tech to make EVs more user-friendly. Commercial vehicles are also next in line to go electric and help cut down those nasty carbon emissions.
