Indian Archer Teams Confirm Four Medals in Asia Cup Stage 2
The Indian Men’s team defeated Uzbekistan and the Indian Women’s team defeated Saudi Arabia in the semi-finals. Now both teams will play for the gold.
Indian archers have made an impressive start to the Asia Cup Stage 2 World Ranking Tournament in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, advancing to the finals of all four team events in the recurve and compound sections.
The Indian men’s recurve team of Mrinal Chauhan, Tushar Shelke and Jayanta Talukdar defeated the hosts’ Uzbekistan in the semifinals, with a score of 6-0. They will now face China in the gold medal match on Friday.
Similarly, the Indian women’s recurve team of Sangeeta, Prachi Singh and Tanisha Verma also made it to the final after beating Saudi Arabia in the semi-final, with a score of 6-0. They will also face China in the gold medal match.
The Indian compound men’s team of Abhishek Verma, Kushal Dalal and Amit secured their spot in the final after beating Saudi Arabia with a score of 236-221. They will face Hong Kong in the gold medal match.
The Indian compound women’s team of Parneet Kaur, Pragati and Raginee Markoo, who topped the qualification round, will also take on Hong Kong in the gold medal match.
It is worth noting that India has sent their second-string side for the continental showpiece, and heavyweights Korea did not participate in the tournament.
However, the Indian archers have shown great skill and determination in their performances so far, and they will be hoping to secure multiple medals for their country in the remaining matches.
