India Wins Gold In P3 25m Pistol Para Shooting World Cup
India has won Gold in P3 25m Pistol Mixed Team Event in the Para Shooting World Cup. Athletes Rahul, Nihal & Singhraj won in P3 Mixed Team 25m Pistol SH1 event.
On the second day of the 2022 World Shooting Para Sports (WPS) World Championship in Al Ain, India won two medals—a gold and a bronze. In the P3 Event – 25m Pistol Mixed SH1 competition, India won gold.
In the team competition, Rahul Jakhar, Singhraj, and Nihal Singh took first place, while Rahul Jakhar finished third in the individual competition, behind Kim Jungnam of South Korea as well as Olseken Denysiuk of Ukraine. Jakhar finished with 21 points, while Jungnam scored 28.
Jahkar won the P3 25 Mixed Pistol SH1 qualifying round with a score of 582 points and 12x (inner 10s), followed by Jungnam and Denysiuk with scores of 577 and 575 points, respectively.
As they advanced to the final, Singhraj placed 7th highest with a score of 565 (10x) and Nihal Singh placed eighth with the same amount of points after the qualification round.
In the final, Singhraj, who won two paralympic medals, placed sixth with a score of 13, while Nihal Singh placed fourth with 20 points.
Avani Lekhara fired 630.6 in the P3 – Mixed Air Rifle Prone event and placed 19th in the qualifying round, while Sidhartha Babu placed 17th with a score of 631.3.
The Sports Authority of India (SAI) has tweeted,
