Sathyavathi Sekhar & Siddhesh Narkar clinched medals at the World Street Workout & Calisthenics Championship. Both are newer athletes in this sport.
The Indian team of seven athletes brought home two medals from the Latvia-hosted 2022 World Street Workout and Calisthenics Championship.
Sathyavathi Sekhar & Siddhesh Narkar of India won bronze in this competition last month.
Sathyavathi, who completed the course in 5.00 minutes, took third place in the women’s strength category.
In contrast, Siddhesh finished fifth in the men’s lightweight strength event with a time of 5 minutes, 30 seconds.
India placed third at the World Calisthenics Championship for the second time in a row.
Sathyavathi placed sixth in the preliminary round of the men’s lightweight strength competition, while Siddhesh came in fourth.
When the Covid-19 lockdown began two years ago, Sathyavathi began practicing Calisthenics as a method to stay in shape.
Since then, she has made significant progress. Siddhesh Narkar, on the other hand, is even more recent to this activity, having only begun performing calisthenics one and a half years ago.
Siddesh praised yoga and said:
“The breathing exercises in yoga, the tricks to control the heart rate – all these help me a lot in calisthenics,”
