India Gives Hope For Future, Proved It Can Tackle Any Challenge: Bill Gates
Bill Gates said that while the whole world is facing multiple crises (war, coup, pandemic, etc.), India has successfully overcome all the challenges.
Bill Gates, co-founder of Microsoft and co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, wrote in his blog “Gates Notes” that India offers promise for the future and has shown that it is capable of tackling large issues all at once.
In his blog, Bill Gates expressed his belief that, even during a time of multiple crises, the world is able to achieve progress on many large problems at once with the appropriate innovations and delivery channels.
Typically, he said, he would hear something along the lines of, “There isn’t sufficient time or money to rectify both at the same time.”
India, however, disproved each and every response. According to Mr. Gates’ blog, “There is no better proof than the extraordinary success that India has achieved.”
“I have faith in India’s future as a whole. The majority of problems there cannot be solved without fixing them at scale because it is on track to overtake China as the most populated nation in the world.
Nevertheless India has shown it is capable of overcoming significant obstacles. The nation reduced the spread of HIV, eradicated polio, reduced poverty, slashed infant mortality, and improved access to financial and sanitation facilities “Added he.
The co-founder of Microsoft added that India has created a model for innovation that guarantees that those in need of the solutions receive them.
India made the decision to produce its own rotavirus vaccine because the vaccination, which protects against the virus that frequently results in fatal episodes of diarrhea, was too expensive to be distributed to every child.
The Gates Foundation and other funders collaborated with India to construct factories and establish extensive delivery systems for the vaccines.
According to Mr. Gates, these inexpensive rotavirus vaccines are already being used in other nations throughout the world, with 83% of 1-year-olds having had them by 2021.
Bill Gates started this in reference to the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, or IARI, in Pusa, India: “For the purpose of assisting the research being done at IARI, the Gates Foundation collaborated with the Indian public sector and CGIAR institutions.
They discovered a brand-new remedy in chickpea cultivars with over 10% higher yields and more drought resistance. Farmers now have access to one kind, and the institute is actively working on developing more.
India is therefore better equipped to continue feeding its citizens and helping its farmers even in a warming globe. It’s not a stretch to suggest that a field in Pusa is currently home to the agricultural future of India.”
“We don’t currently have all the resources necessary to address issues like climate change, hunger, and health, which is one of the reasons why they appear intractable. But I’m optimistic that we will, in part because of pioneers like the researchers at IARI “Added he.
Meanwhile, Gates’ blog post from one of the media outlets was shared by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Mr. Gates also announced on his blog that he will visit India the following week to observe the work being done by entrepreneurs and inventors.
Other researchers are working on innovations that will assist the world lessen the effects of climate change, such as Vidyut Mohan and his team’s efforts to convert garbage into biofuels and fertilizers in far-flung agricultural areas.
“Others are developing fresh strategies to assist people in adjusting to a warmer environment, such as IARI’s initiatives to increase the number of drought-tolerant crops.
I’m eager to follow the development made thus far by the outstanding partners of the Gates Foundation and Breakthrough Energy “said Bill Gates.
“India shares a limited amount of resources with every other nation on the earth. Nonetheless, it has demonstrated how, despite this restriction, the world is still capable of growth.
The public, commercial, and charitable sectors may transform limited resources into significant pools of cash and knowledge that promote advancement by working together and attempting creative techniques, he added.
