India Foreign Minister calls BRICS to support businesses because of Covid-19

At a video conference of the BRICS foreign ministers, a bloc of five leading countries, Foreign Minister C Jaishankar announced the need to take measures to support business in the context of the economic crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
The Minister noted that the BRICS countries (Brazil-Russia-India-China-South Africa) have a great influence on the development of the world economy, as the population of these countries is more than 3.6 billion people.
In his speech, Jaishankar noted that the virus and the problems that accompany it revealed the need for reform of multilateral systems.
Jaishankar emphasized that the pandemic not only poses a great risk to the health and well-being of mankind, but also has a serious impact on the global economy and output due to disruption in global trade and supply chains, the Foreign Ministry said.

“Economic activity in all sectors was negatively affected, resulting in the loss of jobs and livelihoods. Enterprises must be supported to overcome the crisis and ensure that livelihoods are not lost, ”said the Indian Foreign Minister.
