India Celebrates Bronze Victory in Men’s Hockey at Paris Olympics 2024
India wins bronze in men’s hockey at Paris Olympics 2024, marking their first back-to-back Olympic medals in 52 years after defeating Spain 2-1.
We won! India secured the bronze medal in hockey at the Paris Olympics, marking their second consecutive bronze and their 13th overall in Olympic hockey. The 2-1 win over Spain not only secured the bronze but also marked the first time in 52 years that India won back-to-back Olympic medals in hockey, the last consecutive wins being in 1968 and 1972.
This victory contributes to India’s total medal tally at the Paris Olympics, bringing it to four bronze medals—three from shooting and one from hockey.

Veteran goalkeeper PR Sreejesh, playing his final match for India, delivered an outstanding performance, making crucial saves to deny Spanish captain Marc Miralles during penalty corners. After the final whistle, Indian players swarmed Sreejesh, celebrating a memorable farewell for the 36-year-old, who ended his illustrious career on a high note.
