India Acquires Silver In The AVC U20 Championship 2022
The Indian volleyball team acquired silver at the 2022 Asian Boys’ U20 Volleyball Championship in Riffa, Bahrain. India qualified for the U21 World Cup 2023.
The Indian team claimed silver on Monday. The team couldn’t defeat the Iran team in the final encounter. But they earned the silver medal in AVC U20 Championship.
Iran defeated India 1-3 (12-25, 19-25, 25-22, 15-25), and Iran claimed their seventh championship.
By placing in the top 2 of the competition, India did succeed in earning a spot in the 2023 FIVB Volleyball Men’s U21 World Championship.
In their opening match, the Indian team defeated two-time champions Japan by a score of 3-1 (19-25, 25-19, 25-21, 25-23) to start their campaign.
In their second game, they suffered a 0-3 defeat to Iran (20-25, 10-25, 19-25). With one win and one loss, the Indians ranked 2nd in Group B to advance to the next round.

India defeated Bahrain in four sets (25-22, 25-19, 26-28, 26-24) in the quarterfinals. In the semifinal match, the Indian boys defeated Thailand 3-1 (25-21, 23-25, 25-18, 25-17).
Their qualifying for the 2023 FIVB Volleyball U21 World Cup was also assured by this victory.
For the seventh time, the Indian team has qualified for the FIVB Volleyball U21 World Cup in 2023. India’s best finish in the contest was a fourth-place finish in 2009, and its most recent appearance was in 2013.
