ICMR increases no. of private lab testing from 8 to 13 for coronavirus pandemic in Delhi

The count of COVID-19 cases crossed 56,000 across the nation and death reached to 1,886. The number of testing facilities for coronavirus at private labs in Delhi has been extended from 8 to 13 now. The coronavirus response advisory group stated that the Delhi state is presumably going to see its peak in Covid-19 cases in June-July.
An order has been passed concerning testing of COVID-19 samples collected by the locale health services, private labs endorsed by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) if the absolute quantities of tests gathered are more than the consolidated limit of the government laboratories.
Till Monday, Delhi had tested more than 64,108 individuals and people had to wait for 10 days to obtain the reports. Delhi is testing nearly 2,800 people per million population, higher than other states like Maharashtra. In Mumbai, testing is around 890 per million. “The quantity of cases has bounced unexpectedly as the pending reports added to the count.
However, the highest number of test is being conducted in Delhi. Delhi Government had planned to test as many people as they can to fight the virus and soon get back to normalcy. With the number of cases occurring in the containment zones, however, they are sealed but increasing the number of tests was a must.
