HM Amit Shah To Inaugurate ₹3,854 Crore Projects In Kashmir Today
Home Minister Amit Shah is going to lay stone foundation and inauguration of infrastructure projects worth ₹ 1,939.42 crore in Srinagar today (Wednesday).
The launch of significant infrastructure projects worth Rs 3854.46 crore by Union Home Minister Amit Shah has accelerated the expansion of the union territory, keeping with the Government of India’s commitment to ensuring the entire development of Jammu and Kashmir.
Today in Jammu, Shah officially opened and laid the cornerstone for 263 development projects worth Rs 1960 crore.
On Wednesday, ceremonies to lay the first bricks of comparable projects totaling Rs. 1939.42 crore are planned for Srinagar.
This is Shah’s third and second trips to J&K as the Union Home Minister since Article 370 was repealed in 2019 overall.
He had previously traveled to J&K in June 2019, more than a month before introducing legislation in the Parliament to repeal Article 370.
Shah has been attentively observing development projects over the past three years while on a three-day visit to J&K.
In order to assess different current development projects, including those funded by government sponsored initiatives and the Prime Minister’s Development Package (PMDP) in J&K, he held two meetings in New Delhi this year.
In a meeting held here on Wednesday, he is slated to discuss the current state of the ongoing projects in J&K.
Shah had previously said that the administration led by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has equally provided development to Kashmir’s residents without showing any favoritism.
According to Shah, the Center’s prime priority is the overall welfare and development of the people of J&K.
On Wednesday, the Union Home Minister is scheduled to officially open and lay the groundwork for a number of projects in Kashmir.
Shah would lay the cornerstone for the construction of hydraulic gates at the entrance and exit locations of Hokersar Wetland of the flood spill route under the projects of the Jal Shakti Department.
Cost of the project is Rs. 28.45 crore. In the Kashmir division, he would also lay the cornerstone for 15 water supply schemes funded by the Jal Jeevan Mission, totaling Rs. 107.45 crore.
The Water Supply Scheme, Brinty, Batpora and Water Supply Scheme, Regional Shangus (NRDWP), which are expected to cost between Rs 7.45 crore and Rs 13.02 crore, are slated to be officially opened by Shah.
He would open the Rs 18.53 crore worth of urban development projects in the Kashmir division.
A total of 74 roads totaling 434.37 kilometers in length and costing Rs 442.58 crore, seven bridges costing Rs 23.40 crore, and one structure costing Rs 4.97 crore are the other projects that will be launched.
He would lay the cornerstone for 94 roads totaling 580.92 km in length and costing Rs. 511.66 crore.
Shah will dedicate 20 projects totaling Rs 200.14 crore to the public under the Power Development Department in addition to laying the cornerstone for seven projects totaling Rs 367.67 crore.
The Union Home Minister will dedicate the IPD Block at SDH, Bijbehara, which is expected to cost Rs 14.47 crore, as well as the OPD-cum-Administration Block and staff quarters at SDH, Dooru, which is anticipated to cost Rs 12.79 crore.
He would lay the cornerstone for the Sub-District Hospital in Hazratbal, Srinagar, which would cost an estimated Rs 18.99 crore.
Shah laid the cornerstone for three transit accommodations (864 BHK) in the disaster management, relief, rehabilitation, and reconstruction department’s projects at Babadaryad in Ganderbal, Allowpora Phase-I in Shopian, and Odina in Sumbal. These projects total Rs 104.07 crore.
On Wednesday, a foundation stone would also be set for the Women Battalion in Sopore.
Shah is slated to preside over events for the “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav,” the National Rural Livelihood Mission (UMEED) and SHGs, the Swachh Bharat Mission, Nasha Mukt Abhiyaan, the activation of Drug De-Addiction Centers, and the release of the J&K SDG Report-2022, according to the schedule.
