Much to the delight of cricket and MS Dhoni’s fans, the former captain will be making a comeback to the team, but this time it will not be as the captain cool or the safest pair of hands behind the wickets rather as the wicket.
BCCI Secretary Jay Shah confirmed on Wednesday that the legend will be a part of the team as the mentor. “I spoke to him in Dubai. He agreed to be a mentor for WT20 only and I discussed it with my colleagues and all are on the same page. I spoke to the captain (Virat Kohli) and vice captain (Rohit Shamra) and everyone agreed.”
Fans are extremely excited about their favorite making a comeback to the team even as a non performing captain. They flooded the social media with memes where Dhoni can be seen taking responsibility of mentoring the team lead by captain Virat Kohli.

It was indeed a moment of surprise for his fans and cricket experts as no one anticipated this move by the former cricketer. Earlier, assumptions were made that the cricketers will not be in touch with cricket for a while and will focus on other activities but squashing all those rumours, the 40-year-old has made a strong comeback.
Dhoni was one of the most successful Indian captains having won three major ICC trophies — World T20, Champions Trophy and World Cup. He has also led his IPL team Chennai Super Kings to victory thrice since the commencement of the tournament.
Of course, he comes with a lot of experience in the shortest format as it emerged during the same time as he was making a blooming career for himself. His fans have already started terming the team as the ‘champions’.
Former Indian cricketer, Wasim Jafer also shared one of the memes on his twitter handle captioning the picture as ‘Dhoni making a surprise entry into the dressing room.’
Another special addition to the team is Ravichandran Ashwin and the importance of this moment was clear from the way Ashwin expressed his gratitude on Twitter. Ashwin has been selected in the T20 squad of the World Cup scheduled for later this year.
