Has Kartik Aryan’s exit led to Karan Johar shefling Dostana 2?

Mumbai -After the success of Dostana, Karan Johar was enthusiastically waiting to go ahead with its sequel for which he had already decided upon a cast. Kartik Aryan was one of the lead roles in the movie but due to disagreements with the makers, he had chosen to exit the project but does that mean that the movie will not go ahead as planned?

Along with Aryan, Johar had also roped in Jhanvi Kapoor for the project and as per some of the sources, 50 percent of the shooting was completed. But after some time, there was a major fallout between Kartik and Karan Johar which essentially led to the constant delay of the project.

A few months ago there were reports that Johar was so upset with Kartik’s behaviour that he had decided to go ahead with the project despite the exit and rope in a big name for it. Even Akshay Kumar’s name popped up but then many of Kartik’s fans started criticizing the director for doing the film without him.

Now that there has already been a delay, the director is facing a difficult time to once again start with the whole process. As per an entertainment website, Johar is planning to start with the start and begin shooting by slightly tweaking the script. However, nothing can be confirmed as of now.

The source also claimed, “There is a very strong buzz in the industry that Dostana 2 has been put on the backburner completely. There was a strong buzz all across that Dostana 2 would be completely reshot with slight tweaking in the script.” Meanwhile, Dharma production is now working with Jhanvi and Lakshya on two other projects and Johar is also supposedly teaming up with Akshay Kumar for a movie titled ‘Selfie’.The decision to allocate different projects was taken as the revamping was taking longer than expected and cast had to commit to other projects during this time.
