Haryana Municipal Corporation Election 2025: BJP’s victory

The counting of votes for Haryana Municipal Corporation Elections 2025 happened today after the polling in different cities and towns. Elections for Mayors, Presidents, and ward members of the Municipal Corporations, Municipal Councils, and Municipal Committees were conducted on March 2, except for Panipat Municipal Corporation, which held its elections on March 9. Voter turnout across the state stood below 50 percent.
BJP Mops the Floor; Congress Doesn’t Open Their Account
With this, the BJP scored a landslide victory, winning 9 out of the 10 mayoral seats, including the strongholds of Congress, like Rohtak and Sonipat. Meanwhile, not even one seat was won by the Congress in the mayoral elections, clearly indicating that big setbacks for municipal polls faced by the party

- Hisar – Praveen Popli from the BJP

- Ambala – Shailja Sachdeva from the BJP
- Sonipat – Rajeev Jain from the BJP
- Faridabad – Praveen Joshi from the BJP
- Yamunanagar – Suman Bahmani from the BJP
- Manesar – Dr. Inderjit Yadav (Independent)
Key Highlights
The BJP won 9 out of 10 mayoral seats, thus registering a massive win in the municipal polls.
BJP’s mayoral win from Gurugram was a huge boost as Congress heavily campaigned in that area.
The State Election Commission website states that BJP’s Raj Rani won 1.79 lakh or more votes against his rival from Congress.
Consequently, the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram has increased from 36 wards in this term from the previous one.
