Guwahati Provides Personal Care To Self Quarantined Covid-19 Patients

In a bid to control the spread of the novel corona virus, state government of Guwahati has decided to give away free pulse- oximeters and a first line of supportive medical aid to all those patients who have decided to stay indoors and observe the 15-day quarantine guideline.
The state government has also announced that it is has activated Tele Medicine service for Covid-19 patients through 104, which will be expanded to other places soon.
This was announced by Assam’s health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma officially to the media.
Currently the number of active cases has surpassed a 50,000 mark in Assam. This state has seen considerable raise in Covid-19 cases in the last few days.
In July, there was a scare over disposal of Personal Protective Equipment leading to rumours that the spread had thus exasperated. This was also due to many medical facilities being flooded due to sudden floods and thus contamination was a huge point of worry for the neighbouring areas.

Assam had already become aware of massive community spread in the beginning of July. Further, the possibility of workers working in tea garden estates may have also added to the mounting numbers. There is more a scare of this end of the spectrum because of the congested ways of living and lack of sanitization or health care facilities into the tea garden estates.
