Government Auctions Gangster Dawood Ibrahim’s 4 Properties In Maharashtra
The fugitive gangster Dawood Ibrahim has properties that the government of Maharashtra is selling today in an auction. The properties are four pieces of land in Mumbake village, Ratnagiri district, Maharashtra.
They are being sold for at least ₹19 lakh. This is part of the government’s action against criminals and their illegal activities under a special law from 1976.
Dawood Ibrahim is well-known for his crimes, especially the 1993 Bombay blasts. These blasts were very harmful, killing over 250 people and hurting many others. Dawood is still wanted in India and is considered a global terrorist.
Dawood’s Childhood Home To Turn Into School
Today’s auction in Mumbai includes land that belonged to Dawood’s family. One special property is his childhood home in Mumbake village. Ajay Srivastava, a lawyer, and Shiv Sena member wants to buy this home. He has tried to buy Dawood’s properties before. If he wins, he plans to build a school there.

Auction Timings & Increased Interest
The auction is happening between 2:00 pm and 3:30 pm. Many people have shown interest in buying these properties.
People were scared to buy Dawood’s properties in the past, but now they are coming forward. The government has sold Dawood’s properties before, like in 2017 and 2020, and earned money from these sales.
Better Usage of Criminals’ Assets
In the last nine years, 11 properties of David or his relatives have already been auctioned by the SAFEMA authorities.
There have also been recent news reports about Dawood’s health. Some say he was poisoned and taken to a hospital in Karachi, Pakistan. But, there’s no confirmation from Pakistani authorities, and Dawood’s associate says he is fine.
The auction of Dawood Ibrahim’s properties is a significant step by the government to fight against crime and use the criminal’s assets for better purposes.
