Glittering Resource: The Reserve of Gold by the Indian Women Reaches 24,000 Tons!
Gold and Indian women have a deep tie for centuries because gold is not just an ornament to showcase their beauty but a resource during financial emergencies. Gold is an inevitable factor in any Indian festivals, wedding, and pivotal occasions. So, it is a profound relationship between Indian women and gold which blended together with the traditions, emotion, and the cultural significance.
Statistics of Gold Reserves
It is a surprising stat revealed by the Oxford Gold Group that the Indian Women owns 24,000 tons of gold and among the global platform India’s gold reserve is estimated as 11%. From the given information we can observe clearly that there is a rise in the ownership of gold in India during every fiscal year, which is proved by the reports of the World Gold Council. In 2020-21 it will be 21,000 and 23,000 tonnes of gold whereas, in 2023 it is raised to 24,000 & 25,000.
They have also unveiled the Gold reserves in other countries which includes,
- USA – 8,000 tonnes
- Germany – 3,300 tonnes
- France – 2,400 tonnes
- Russia – 1,900 tonnes
Meanwhile in India, the southern states or regions have become the hub of gold ownership with 40% of total in which 28% owned by Tamil Nadu. The Indian Income Tax Law has drafted the limit to hold up the gold based on the category they fall on and also it gives more important to women because they symbolize the wealth and safety of future.
