From 2025, ICAI to conduct CA final exams thrice-a-year.

CA Final aspirants are to be given three attempts to get through their exams starting in the year 2025. More specifically, this major change was announced by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India during its 441st Council Meeting held in New Delhi on 27th March.
This decision brings the CA Final exam into parity with the Intermediate and Foundation levels, which, by and large, confirmed their change of status to thrice-a-year the previous year. With this decision, all three levels of the CA course will now conform to the same examination schedule.
Reason for the Change
According to ICAI, the change was made to conform to international standard practice and also provide students with more chances to prevail. Earlier, the CA Final exams were conducted twice a year, but now starting from 2025, they shall be held in :
- January
- May
- September
This amendment, according to ICAI, gives students greater flexibility and opportunities to complete the course in a shorter time.
Other Exam Schedule Updates
There have been changes to the schedule of the Post Qualification Course in Information Systems Audit administered by the ICAI. The examination, which used to happen twice a year (June and December), will now be held thrice a year, in the months of February, June, and October.
Vision of the ICAI Leadership
The reforms have been accepted by the President of ICAI, CA Charanjot Singh Nanda, Vice President CA Prasanna Kumar D, and other council members as part of a series of changes concerning the improvement of professional education and greater accessibility of exams.
This particular choice is expected to ease the path for the CA aspirants with greater opportunities in the same academic cycle. Further guidelines and modified timelines are expected to be announced very soon by ICAI.
