This year, India will play host to the 15th FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup, which will be held in the state of Odisha. For the second straight Men’s World Cup, games were hosted in Bhubaneswar and Rourkela, the state of Odisha.
The competition was also conducted in Bhubaneswar in 2018, when Belgium won the grand prize. The competition will begin on January 13 and end with the championship game on January 29.

The eight-time Olympic winners have only ever defeated Pakistan in the final at Kuala Lumpur in 1975 to claim the title of World Champions.

Format of FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup 2023
Each club will play three matches during the group round, with the top 2 teams from each group moving on to the quarterfinals.
The remaining 4 spots in the final eight will be decided by the third-place teams competing against one another in crossover matches. The squad that places lowest in the group stage will, sad to say, be eliminated.
