Farmer Unions Demand PM Modi to Sack MoS Ajay Mishra and Legalize MSP Rights

Punjab – On Sunday, the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (KSM) joint farmer Unions composed a letter to PM Modi, asking him to quickly resume talks on the six demands of the farmers, including the Electricity Amendment Bill, firing of MoS Ajay Mishra and ensuring to get crops at minimum support price (MSP).

The letter also asked for the quick withdrawal of actions against farmers implicated in many cases during the farmer’s protest (June 2020 till date) in Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Chandigarh, and a few other states.

The Cabinet will probably take up the withdrawal of the three farm bills for signature on Wednesday. The Bills for withdrawal of the laws will then, at that point, be presented in the upcoming Parliament winter session, TOI reported

Farmers, for the most part from Punjab and Haryana, have been challenging these laws at the Delhi NCR borders since 26 November 2020.

On Friday, while tending to the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared the nullification of the three controversial farm bills.

“We haven’t been able to tell our farmers that this is not the moment to play the blame game. I need to inform you that we have taken the farm bills back,” stated the PM, encouraging farmers to get back to their fields and home.

According to political analysts, after more than a year, the decision came right ahead of the most important upcoming state elections.

Meanwhile, on Monday, regarding the six demands, the SKM will hold a maha panchayat in Lucknow, where a few farm pioneers will be present, including Rakesh Tikait.

The Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) held a press conference at Delhi’s Singhu border, stating that farmer unions would proceed with more protest events according to plan, and an important meeting would be held on 27 November.

From 29 November, the SKM intends to send a bunch of 500 protesters every day on tractors to dissent throughout the Winter Session at the Parliament.
