Musk is known for leading X and SpaceX and has long been a supporter of the former US President. With the US presidential elections round the corner, there have been claims made that Elon Musk had planned to contribute $45 million monthly to a Super PAC dedicated to Trump’s US Presidential campaign. However, the billionaire has repeatedly denied the claims.
According to the Federal Election Commission, Super PACs have the provision of accepting unlimited donations from individuals and corporations in order to support candidates or political parties.
A committee linked to Musk is under scrutiny despite the denial by the billionaire that he has not contributed any sum of money to the Republicans election campaign. Elon Musk is currently the CEO and owner of X (formerly Twitter) and witnessed Trump’s account banned following allegations of inducing an attack on the Capitol Hill on 6th January 2021. After Musk became the owner of X, he reinstated Donald Trump’s account.
